TECHLANDIA: Smart + Connected
Most of the world felt the supply chain challenges that a global pandemic brought to light in the past two years. Material scarcity, increased freight costs, difficult demand forecasting, port congestion, climate disruptions, changing consumer attitudes and the industry’s digital transformation seemed to break down the process of getting goods to consumers; however, the challenges facing the modern supply chain existed well before the lexicon associated with COVID.
Join TAO in this second Techlandia: Smart + Connected session sponsored by PSU, Crown Castle, and Sedcor to hear about the latest applied centers of excellence in the region designed to address cybersecurity and energy systems, blockchain and distributed systems, and supply chain resiliency and transparency. With the proliferation of smart, connected infrastructure powering the movement of people, goods and information, the future health and well-being of our communities depends on our collective ability to design and deploy systems that are resilient and secure. Attend this session to learn about programs and projects already underway and contemplated in the future, and how you and your organization can get involved.
The first half of this session will feature presentations and Q&A. The second half will be an interactive discussion about priorities for the Global City Teams Challenge (launched by NIST 6 years ago), including opportunities for federal support going forward. This discussion will be led by Wilf Pinfold of Urban Systems and Skip Newberry of TAO, both of whom will have just attended a NIST-sponsored GCTC workshop in Washington, D.C.
