Tech Talk Tuesday: Visual Analytics for Machine Learning Interpretability

Minsuk Kahng is an assistant professor of computer science at Oregon State University. His research focuses on human-centered AI, specifically on building novel interactive and visual tools for people to easily explore, interpret, and interact with machine learning systems and large datasets. His work spans multiple areas, including data visualization, data mining, human-computer interaction, databases, and machine learning.
Kahng’s research led to deployed systems by Facebook (e.g., on visualization of deep learning models) and open-sourced tools developed with Google Brain (e.g., GAN Lab on deep learning education). His research has been supported by Google, Facebook, and NSF.
