How to Share Your Story
Road to Run is a virtual event series that provides women a starting place for considering and exploring a future run for office as well as a baseline knowledge of what goes into running for public office.
Stops one and two on the Road to Run were focused on building your leadership capacity and honing your networking and fundraising skills. For our third stop, with our partners, Wyoming Women’s Action Network and the Equality State Policy Center, we’re diving into how telling your story and building your brand are essential components of running for office. Developing your voice is an empowering, crucial part of owning your leadership path. As a potential candidate, your plans and ideas are what others will support. You’re here because something in your background or experiences is driving you to make a difference. That story – of who you are, where you came from, and your lived experiences – is the center of your leadership style.
In a conversation moderated by Commissioner Natalia D. Macker with Wyoming State Representative Andi Clifford and State Senator Tara Nethercott, we will discuss how they developed their own voice and used it both offline and online, how they learned to navigate digital communications, and how they used active listening as part of their communications with voters.
