Technology Association of Oregon Welcomes 2020 Board Members

Portland, Oregon – October 5, 2020 – The Technology Association of Oregon (TAO) recently announced six new members to the association’s board of directors as part of its latest election cycle. These new board members will serve an initial three-year term. The TAO is also pleased to announce that seven current board members have agreed to renew their positions. Celeste Edman, Co-Founder & CRO of KinectAir; Mike Graham, President of Real Carbon; Maggie Hubbell, COO & Co-Founder of Shift; Charlie Kawasaki, CTO of PacStar; and Mohan Nair, SVP & CIO of Cambia Health Solutions, will all begin second, three-year terms on the board. Brent Bullock, Partner at Perkins Coie, will continue on as Board Secretary for another year and Rod Clark, Partner at KMPG, will continue as Treasurer. Skip Newberry will maintain his current position as President and CEO.With former Chair Jim Gochee’s board service ending, John Kochavatr, VP and CIO of PGE, was unanimously approved by the board as the new Chair.The TAO board consists of leaders from across the spectrum of technology companies in the region, including Portland, Southwest Washington, the Southern Willamette Valley, and Central Oregon. The board helps guide the TAO toward its goal of creating a world-class and inclusive innovation economy in the region through programs and initiatives that focus on industry promotion, advocacy, professional networks, and economic and talent development."This class of board members represents a diverse set of experiences, companies and regions from across the state, including greater representation from Central Oregon, the Mid-Valley, and Southern Willamette Valley," said Skip Newberry, President and CEO of TAO. The newest TAO board members are: Brian Tol Senior Practice Leader, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Brian Tol is a Senior Practice Leader for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services helping customers move at the speed of Amazon to realize their desired business outcomes using the AWS Cloud.  Brian joined Amazon in 2015, and over the last five years has held multiple leadership roles — he currently leads the US West Application Migration & Modernization Practice.  Brian is responsible for the most complex cloud migration projects and innovates with AWS customers and partners to build cloud-native solutions on AWS. In addition to obsessing over AWS customers, a fun fact about Brian is that he has the prestigious honor of being an Amazon Bar Raiser.Charmaine GuilloryDirector, Supply Charmaine is studied and practiced in the art of building meaningful and lasting human connections through the mediums of marketing, interpersonal communication, and innovation. Her interests lie in the intersection between entrepreneurship and innovation and wellness and DEI. Currently, Charmaine is a director of marketing and business development at Supply, a digital design and development studio. Charmaine has earned an M.B.A. from UO, an M.A. in fashion design from AAU, and a B.S. in entrepreneurship from ASU.Heidi EggertHead of Innovation Entrepreneurs—Global Technology Innovation, NikeHeidi leads Nike’s Global Technology Innovation Team, where she helps to accelerate Nike’s business by building results-oriented innovation teams inside Nike -- combining cross-functional business perspectives with advanced technology enabling Nike to create new solutions to multi-faceted, enterprise challenges and opportunities. During her nine-year career with Nike, Heidi has helped rebuild nike.net, Nike’s B2B eCommerce platform, create a more collaborative and strategic way of working with technology and supply chain leaders at Nike’s top wholesale accounts, and explore a new business venture as part of Nike’s new business incubation team -- called Valiant Labs.   Javier O RuizCEO & Co-Founder, CarzatoJavier has enjoyed a highly diverse career, spanning over two decades, with leadership positions in the corporate world. More recently, his interest turned to technology and he has been involved with several new companies in a variety of fields. Javier co-founded and is CEO of two software startups – Site Rank Systems, which focuses on data analytics in the digital advertising space, and Carzato, which provides an online retailing experience for the auto industry. Javier is an avid golfer who resides with his wife and three children in Willamette Valley, the beautiful wine country of Oregon.Jonathan MikoChief Strategy & Innovation Officer, Alacrity SolutionsJon serves as the Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer for Alacrity Solutions, one of the largest independent providers of insurance claims management services in North America. Prior to joining Alacrity Services in 2004, Jon was an attorney in private practice, specializing in insurance claims litigation and coverage analysis. He resides in Eugene with his wife and two children. In his spare time, Jon enjoys many of the wonderful outdoor activities available in the great state of Oregon.    Mike WhiteMid-Valley Venture Catalyst, Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN)Mike is passionate about helping other people see success and building up his community and is currently serving as a Venture Catalyst for the OEN in the Mid-Willamette Valley. In that role, Mike works to connect entrepreneurs to people, programs, and capital resources to help them scale their businesses. While Mike grew up in the Portland area, he and his wife moved to Salem for business reasons and now call Salem their home. In addition to his work in the entrepreneurial community, Mike is also quite an entrepreneur himself. In addition to founding a tech company that is in the process of launching a new Saas platform that helps event companies manage their vendors, Mike also owns a successful sauce business that has products in over 200 grocery stores in the Pacific Northwest.Board members terming off the board include:
