Skip-

Last week we launched our new TAO website, which is an attempt on our part to more effectively showcase our members and their employees and the work we do on their behalf. As we look ahead to the next five months, the launch of the new website marks the first in a series of initiatives and events aimed to showcase Oregon as a hub for tech innovation.  A few highlights include:

Tech Ignite V.7 – This evening we will hold our biggest Tech Ignite ever–put on by our Dev & Engineering Community–with a capacity crowd of over 400 registered attendees and 18 local thought leaders.

Smart Cities – Recognition for the region’s work as a living lab for smart city solutions continues to grow at a federal level and even internationally, with a delegation from multiple European cities meeting with us in the past month.  More to come.

Oregon Tech Awards – On May 12 we will showcase one of our strongest lineups of tech companies to date across multiple award categories, ranging from pre-revenue to enterprise.

TECNA Summer Conference – July 27 to July 29, we will host our counterpart organizations from tech hubs throughout North America here in Portland, culminating in Party-in-the-Pinot on July 30.  We will be showcasing the best of what the region has to offer in our rapidly-growing tech ecosystem.

If your company has an interesting story to tell, we want to share it.  Contact Lex Chase to learn about guest blog and PR opportunities.

Theresa –

Our Communities & Labs have had a busy start to the year!  With our committees’ support, we will close out January and February with a total of 13 successful events – including a joint event we hosted with our counterparts (Washington Technology Industry Association – WTIA) from Seattle, WA.  Our Spring calendar is filling up with a continued focus of collaboration across groups – stay tuned for our best year of programming yet!

Rylee-

Oregon Technology Awards are right around the corner on Thursday, May 12th and we are really excited about the nominations that are rolling in for Company of the Year, Most Disruptive and Non-Headquartered awards. TAO is also preparing to host our constituents from Tech Associations and Councils around the United States and Canada at the TECNA Summer Conference this July.

Aaron-

We’ve continued to grow by leaps and bounds and 2016 looks to continue the trend. With all the new members I’ve been trying to meet everyone and get them plugged into all of our resources. To that end, we’ll be having a Membership Appreciation Party at Perka on April 8th! It’s TAO members only and I’d love to see you there. It will be a great way to get plugged in!

Daniel-

We launched our new website! A big shout out to Metal Toad and Conveyor who made it possible. We also have made significant progress on further enhancing our informations system so that it eliminates extra steps for our business development team while also reducing the possibility for errors.

Lex-

We helped the Oregon Games Organization host their second annual Game On event, that successfully opened the door for conversations amongst community stakeholders about the possibilities of the AR/VR industries. Additionally, with the help of Metal Toad, Conveyor and a few other member companies we lauched our new website! Check out some of the highlighted features here.
