The IT Support Technician is the go-to person for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. They are responsible for answering queries and addressing system and user issues in a timely and professional manner. This person works with the IT team, and will often interact with system and computer users across the company. This person will train users on basic system and computer functions. Understanding and proactively maintaining daily system performance, having the ability to troubleshoot customer problems, and innate follow-up and follow-through skills are all essential aspects of the help desk support’s day-to-day role.

This position will be based in our Portland Headquarters but will be remote until the pandemic subsides.

What You'll Do:

  • Proactive responsibility for IT security and evolving best practices.

  • Install, update, and repair software on organization systems

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners

  • Track and monitor the day-to-day performance of systems, and conduct analysis with the goal of improving performance

  • Monitor Jira ticketing queue while meeting SLO’s with responses/resolution.

  • Respond to requests for new or configured hardware or software, and keep inventory up to date

  • Interface with external vendors

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, logging problems in Jira, and documenting fixes

  • Maintain inventory of IT purchases and assets – creating/updating inventory records, assigning equipment to users, auditing inventorying, and decommissioning

  • Support improvement of local IT infrastructure

  • Drive objectives and tool implementation from start to finish

  • Support new employee onboarding and IT training

What You'll Bring:

  • Growth mindset (receptive to feedback, learner)

  • 3+ years of experience in a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or similar role

  • Proficiency with desktop operating systems including Mac OS X and Windows 10, including network connectivity, installation, maintenance, and hardware configuration

  • Extensive application support experience with G-Suite and Office 365

  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and experience supporting remote/hybrid users

  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence preferred

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously

  • Be adaptive to ever-changing technology requirements

  • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members along with a willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance

  • Well developed ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English
