Description

Who We Are

Adpearance is a digital marketing company that provides tech-enabled solutions to local businesses to generate quality leads and increase sales.  With a strong reputation built on proven performance, we’ve grown rapidly with dealerships in the automotive and equipment industries.  We’re now expanding to new markets.

Our passion, smarts, and hustle saw us named 2020 Top Rated Search Engine Marketing by DrivingSales and routinely land us on Inc 5000’s and Portland Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Companies lists year-after-year.

Adpearance proprietary technology includes ad technology and websites.  And our sister company, Foureyes, has patented software and data collection capabilities that we leverage for advertising and website purposes.

Curious? Sounds like you’d fit right in. We want to hire smart people who like to work, love a challenge, and want to be a part of something special. We are currently looking to add a Digital Designer to our Design Team.

Responsibilities

As a Digital Designer, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with project managers, business development managers, marketing teams  and internal stakeholders to create production-level visual and interactive assets

  • Creating landing pages, web pages, templates, and email templates using HTML, SCSS, and some JavaScript

  • Skillfully emulating and expanding existing styles

  • Helping solve code and design issues

  • Assisting with creating prototypes and wireframes

  • Participating in presentations and internal feedback sessions

  • Actively seeking opportunities or improvements that support the overarching marketing strategy for the company or client

Job Qualifications

You are an ideal candidate if:

  • You’re a Collaborator:  You’ve worked on multidisciplinary teams and know how to collaborate with people who aren’t designers.

  • You’re an HTML & SCSS expert. You can code HTML & SCSS in your sleep. You look forward to using your powers to create beautifully organized and readable code.

  • You’re an Adobe Master. You have no trouble handling yourself in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma (not Adobe, but you get the point).

  • Your visual design is rock solid. You know the ins and outs of design fundamentals like color theory, typography, hierarchy, and layout. You understand the importance of styles and repeatable patterns. People ask you to design their wedding invitations. You make other designers want to be you. You’re a Dribbble superstar.

  • You’re good with ambiguity and can solve design problems on your own. You know how to convert strategy into reality. The client wants the design to “pop” more? You know what to do. Crappy design assets? You either know how to make them look better or can easily find a work-around or fallback. Marketing team needs ideas for A/B testing? You have a list already started. You’re a creative leader to be envied.

  • You’re an efficient worker and detail-oriented designer. You’re constantly on the lookout for ways to do things better or faster. You’ve heard the phrase, “Wow, you’re fast” more than a couple of times. You know how to prioritize and work independently. Pixel perfection is part of what you do.

  • You’re a self-starter. You can work independently without micromanagement. See a problem? Fix it. Need some help? Get it. You work toward potential solutions instead of immediately bouncing the task to someone else.

  • You’re comfortable moving quickly from one project to another. You enjoy working on many different projects and are good at multitasking. You’ve excelled in a role where you’ve worn many hats as a designer

  • You know how to present your designs. You’re comfortable accepting feedback and being coached. You know it’s not about taking a pixel-by-pixel real estate tour, but talking about the Big Picture and how the design accomplishes a business or campaign goal. You can ask a dozen better questions than “So, do you like it?”

  • You enjoy learning new things and pushing yourself. You like new challenges that push you as a designer and front-end developer. You love to learn new things and take on new opportunities.

Education & Experience:

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, web design, business, marketing, or related discipline OR equivalent work experience.

  • You have at least 3 years of web design and front-end development experience, preferably from a business or marketing environment.

  • You’ve worked on multidisciplinary teams and know how to collaborate with people who aren’t designers.

  • You have experience designing in the browser.

  • You know HTML, SCSS and JS and are comfortable picking up other people’s code and extending it.

  • You have worked with the Foundation framework.
