We are currently seeking a Design Director for our client, located in Portland, OR. This position is a full-time, direct hire position with some great benefits like Medical and PTO!

The Design Director will create and execute digital campaigns alongside other designers, writers, and developers in collaboration with client services, the clients, and other partners. They will treat every project as a new opportunity to create, make, inspire, and execute exceptional work.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Articulate and sell creative strategy to clients, while building and maintaining client relationships
  • Working with the creative director, design leads, and other team members to drive and deliver digital creative work
  • Acting as the primary creative partner for our client, responsible for the output of the team while representing the goals and values of the studio
  • Collaborate with teammates to constantly shape an environment that surpasses the status quo
  • Thinking strategically to take the complex and make it simple
  • Facilitating workshops and work sessions to move ideas forward
  • Creating smart, strategic thinking, illustrated through concise and articulate presentations

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in a design studio or agency AND 3+ years in a management or team leadership role
  • Ability to lead and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, as well as design teams with varying degrees of experience and expertise
  • Has a portfolio and work experience that demonstrates a mastery of design and creative communication on a wide range of projects for global brands
  • Has the ability to travel, occasionally
  • Has digital experience
  • Comfortable with changing client needs and priorities
  • Has a solid core design competency, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, scale, visual presentation development, and layout
  • Has exceptional organizational, listening, and communication skills
  • Has experience with prototyping tools like Invision and Flinto
  • Has expert knowledge of industry-standard software (Adobe CC, Sketch, Keynote, etc.)
  • Ability to work in the Portland office when restrictions lift

Compensation: $104+/year, depending on experience

Location: Remote, but should be able to work in the Portland office when things open up

Hours: Normal business hours
