Jet-Set Tech: International Trade Administration Partner Brings International Leads to TAO

women in tech trade mission

*At the end of this blog post, there is information for international trade opportunities for Oregon Tech Companies.

We are no strangers to working internationally. TAO has worked with several foreign governments who are looking to source American tech companies that can provide solutions to the challenges they face. Working with various government agencies from around the world provides a huge opportunity for Oregon companies that offer innovative and creative products and services. For some, its where they find their niche!

Now, the idea of finding, brokering, and managing international accounts may seem daunting, particularly if your company is still growing and securing its footing, but for those taking the risk, it can generate huge benefits and take a start up to the next stage in it’s evolution.

The good news is you do not have go it alone. Haisum Shah, of the International Trade Administration’s (ITA) U.S. Commercial Service office in Portland, Oregon, works tirelessly to provide leads, resources and insights into international trade. I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with him at several events and I can say that this is one man, deeply passionate about empowering any Oregon business to take advantage of the leads that come through the pipeline.

TAO will regularly be posting content from ITA on our blog and social media regarding leads and opportunities. Haisum from ITA hopes that our members get to profit and benefit from these resources! Stay tune for more information and if you have any questions about how to get started or want to connect about certain resources or events, please reach out to Haisum Shah.

Women in Tech Trade Mission to the Netherlands, Portugal and France

The U.S. Commercial Service, the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, is organizing an executive-led Women in Tech Trade Mission to France, Netherlands, and Portugal from Sunday, October 30, 2022, to Saturday, November 5, 2022.

This Trade Mission will provide potential opportunities for participants to access European regional markets and increase U.S. exports to the European Union by connecting them to pre-screened business prospects.

The focus of the Trade Mission is on the Tech industry, which covers a wide range of all technology related products and services. During the week, participating U.S. firms and trade associations will connect with pre-screened business prospects in each of these European Tech hubs.

There will also be networking opportunities with local government officials, industry leaders, plus U.S. companies already doing business in the region. As an additional benefit, while in Lisbon, participants will attend Web Summit 2022, a premier tech gathering for founders and CEOs of technology companies, fast-growing startups, policymakers, and heads of state.

The Trade Mission delegation will be representatives with decision-making authority from U.S. companies, U.S. trade associations and national chambers of commerce representing industry sectors within the Tech space. Consideration will be given to all export-ready companies that meet mission criteria, but the emphasis of the mission is to assist women-owned business and/or female executives of U.S. companies.

Spaces on the Trade Mission are limited, so if you’re interested, we encourage you to apply right away. For those who would like to hear a bit more about the Dutch, Portuguese and French Tech Markets first, please register to join us on June 29 at 1:00pm EST for “Netherlands, Portugal, & France Coffee Chat: Women in Tech Opportunities.”

Find out more about the trade mission and the relevant industries for mission participants at the International Trade Administration website. If you have questions about the content of this blog post or would like an introduction to Haisum, you can reach out to me, Devon.Roberts@techoregon.org
