Interactive Map
Feature Now Live on Techlandia.org
As I mentioned back in April in one of the first
blog posts on Techlandia.org, the site will continue to evolve over
time. We are now entering Phase II.
Since the spring we have heard from a lot of people around
the state in the tech community, the public sector, and the broader business
community, and it’s clear that most people want to see progress in at least
three areas:
1) Improve the navigation of the site and the UX/UI of the
homepage in particular so that it’s easier to access company profiles.
2) Create a job matching solution that focuses on technology
companies that are hiring within Oregon and SW Washington.
3) Develop an interactive map of companies based on their
profiles.
Work is already underway on 1) and 2), and an early version
of an interactive map
is now live, courtesy of Cascade Web
Development, Fuse Insight Labs,
and McBru Communications. Once the job matching solution is complete,
we will be adding a layer to the map that shows which companies are hiring and
open jobs at each company.
We invite you to take a look at the map and share your
feedback at skip.newberry@techoregon.org. In the meantime, keep an eye out for future
updates on the job matching solution and improvements to the navigation and
UX/UI of the site.
