Technology Association of Oregon Welcomes New Board Members


Portland, Ore. – June 19, 2019 – The Technology Association of Oregon (TAO) today announced nine new members to the association’s board of directors as part of its latest election cycle. These new board members will serve an initial three-year term.

Monica Enand, CEO and Co-Founder of Zapproved, has been succeeded as Board Chair by Katie Bullard, President of DiscoverOrg.  Monica will continue on the board as Immediate Past Chair.

The TAO is also pleased to announce that three current board members have agreed to renew their positions on the board.  Brent Bullock, Partner at Perkins Coie, will continue on the Board as Secretary, and Rod Clark, Partner at KMPG, will continue as Treasurer.  Elisabeth Richard, CIO of The Greenbrier Companies, will begin a second, three-year term on the board Skip Newberry will maintain his current position as President and CEO.

The TAO board consists of leaders from across the spectrum of technology companies in the region, including Portland, Southwest Washington, the Southern Willamette Valley, and Central Oregon. The board helps guide the TAO toward its goal of creating a world-class and inclusive innovation economy in the region through programs and initiatives that focus on industry promotion, advocacy, professional networks, and economic and talent development.

“This is one of the largest classes of new TAO board members in a long time, and they represent a diverse set of companies, spanning innovative enterprises to early-stage startups ,” said Skip Newberry, President and CEO of TAO. “The local tech industry and the broader community continue to evolve as a hub for innovation, and this class of board members brings with it a formidable set of experiences and perspectives that will shape the course of the association and its work for the next three-plus years.”  

The newest members are:

Trevor Dryer
CEO & Co-Founder, Mirador Tech
Trevor is the Co-Founder of Mirador, a provider of the leading digital small business lending platform, which he started to help address the unnecessary gap that exists between entrepreneurs needing capital to grow their businesses and bankers struggling to economically underwrite typical small business loans. Trevor grew Mirador from an idea to loan volume of over $2.6B in just a few years, and sold Mirador to CUNA Mutual Group in 2018. Trevor continues to lead the company post-acquisition.

Litzy Garcia
Business Development Manager, Daimler
Litzy is responsible for Business Development Management at Daimler Trucks North America’s Digital Vehicle Solutions Team. She enjoys tackling challenges and making strategic decisions, striking a balance between speed and accuracy, as well as executing on plan and on time. Litzy also leverages her strategic thinking to execute decisions and deliver strong results focused on long-term goals. The focus of her current position is centered on startup scouting, partnership management, identifying new revenue streams, and enabling customer solutions in CASE areas (Connected, Automated, Share Services, Electric).

Jim Gochee
Chief Technology Officer, New Relic
Jim is New Relic's Chief Technical Officer, where he oversees the teams that design, build, and deliver New Relic's products. He has a passion for building world-class products and loves technology – especially when it's well architected, scalable, and fast.  Jim takes great pleasure and pride in helping New Relic's customers analyze their technology and build great digital experiences.

Lora Haddock
Founder & CEO, Lora DiCarlo
Lora is the Founder and CEO of Lora DiCarlo, a Bend-based company creating disruption in the tech industry and advocating societal change around gender equity. She founded Lora DiCarlo in 2017 and began her journey towards launching new physiologically appropriate women’s health and wellness products while fighting for a cause.

Scott Keeney
CEO & Co-Founder, nLIGHT
Scott co-founded nLIGHT in 2000 and has served as the company’s CEO since its inception, and is also Chairman of the Board. Among other accolades, Scott has been named as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Technology in the Pacific Northwest and was also recognized with the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network.

John Kochavatr
VP & CIO, PGE
John joined Portland General Electric (PGE) as Vice President -- Information Technology and Chief Information Officer in 2018, where he leads a team of more than 700 individuals dedicated to helping decarbonize and electrify PGE’s service territory. Kochavatr’s entrepreneurial leadership style encourages team members to take calculated risks and put forth disruptive strategies with the goal of bringing about innovative change.  

Allison Magyar
Founder & CEO, Hubb
Allie is a serial entrepreneur and event architect driving the events industry toward a tech-enabled future. As CEO and founder of the event content management platform Hubb, Allie’s visionary leadership has created technology that powers some of the world’s largest events. With Hubb's application of machine learning and AI providing valuable data and insights, the company continues its mission of helping event managers make smarter decisions around event content and improving event ROI.

Mariah Scott
President, Skyward, A Verizon Company
As President of Skyward, A Verizon Company, Mariah helps enterprises realize the enormous potential of drones. Starting with a small team and a big vision -- enabling a global aerial robotics network—she helped build the company from the startup phase to a successful acquisition by Verizon. Skyward software now runs drone programs for many Fortune 500 companies, as well as drone flight service startups, and is the industry leader in integrating automated access to airspace.

Jennifer Stoll
Executive Vice President, OCHIN
Jennifer Stoll leads government relations, public affairs, and media relations efforts for OCHIN, a national nonprofit with a focus on healthcare technology and data analytics.  With more than 25 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, Jennifer most recently worked for pharmaceutical companies such as Allergan, Inc., and Sepracor (Sunovion), where she developed and executed key government affairs and advocacy strategies.
