Welcome to Technology Association of Oregon
The Technology Association of Oregon is the largest professional technology association in Oregon and SW Washington. TAO drives economic development for the region’s technology sector by promoting, connecting, and advocating for thousands of companies involved or affiliated with the software and technology industries.
Women in the workforce emerged as a prominent issue in the 20th century. With leading women such as Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook and author of Lean In) and Marissa Mayer (President and CEO of Yahoo!), women in tech has been gaining mentions in national press. In Portland, Janice Levenhagen-Seeley, Founder and Executive Director of ChickTech, aims to improve the number of women in technology with the mission of ChickTech. Sitting on TAO's Developer's Forum Committee and active in the Portland tech scene, I caught up with Janice to see what's shaking with ChickTech and what to expect in 2014.
As many already know - TAO has moved from our previous downtown location at the PDC to the Eastside Exchange Building. I've seen a lot of Portland tech office spaces as part of my networking - and pretty much all of them offer something special and unique with regards to a working environment.
On this Thanksgiving week, everyone is starting to feel the pressure of the holidays. Before you know it, the holiday season will be in full swing. While you’re rushed to finish holiday shopping, it’s important to think ahead to 2014 and consider your recruiting plan of action.
The past month has been a busy one at TAO. We launched a new website and communication platforms and moved into a new building at the Burnside Bridgehead. The amenities available in our new building, including several new venues for TAO events, will help us to continue to serve the tech community as a virtual and physical hub.
